Ancient Ostia
We will plunge into the past and visit this small Pompei, the port in ancient Rome and admire the temples, the forum, shops, houses, ancient roman toilets and laundry, theatre etc. Wild animals which served for the amphitheatre the Colosseum, wine, olive oil, grain, marbles, etc were transported on huge ships to Ostia antica. Great for children and for students in ancient roman history and archeology.
Minimum 4hrs 20mns drive. Closed on Mondays. Comfortable shoes. Weather permitting (no pouring, showers)
